Brief Introduction of Rolling Lubricant for Packaging Steel Strip Rolling Mill
Among the requirements for rolling lubrication, the operation of sheet rolling mills is generally the least stringent. According to the increase in lubrication performance, these requirements can be easily divided into the following three categories: 1) low-speed rolling mills for producing thicker and thin plates; 2) low-speed rolling mills for rolling thin steel plates; 3) high-speed rolling mills for rolling thinner products .
As described in Section 6-9, according to the above minimum requirements, pickling oil (usually mineral oil) can be used as the sole lubricant, and water is used as a coolant for rolls and strip steel. When used for the more stringent requirements of the next level, the mineral oil used in the pickling line can be mixed with fatty oil, or it can be used on the rolling mill and mixed with a fatty lubricant so-called 'soluble oil' . For the most stringent requirements, palm oil or its substitutes are generally used in the form of a moderately stable emulsion. In this case, proper lubrication performance is ensured, and it can be recycled and filtered to keep the pollution of the emulsion to a minimum. These relatively unstable emulsions are based on mineral oil and mixed with certain fat additives. , Not only makes the amount of lubricant very economical (0.34-0.68 kg per ton of steel rolled), but also, if it does not conflict with the pickling oil in nature, it can maintain its clean state almost unlimited. If contamination occurs, the pickling oil will be separated together with iron powder and vaporized iron.
In order to facilitate the production of clean sheet steel, detergents can be used instead of lubricants on the last stand of the sheet rolling mill. This method reduces the thickness of the residual oil film on the steel plate, thereby reducing the tendency to form stains or residues during annealing. However, the last roll of the thin plate mill needs to be shot blasted, so the detergent should have sufficient lubricating performance to reduce the iron powder residue produced by the shot peened rolls.
