(1)Equipment

The rough rolling mill has continuous and reversible forms. The slab passing through 4-6 rough rolling mills in one direction is continuous. In this case, it is usually driven by a synchronous motor, and a slab cannot be continuously rolled on two rolling mills at the same time. The reversible type is to roll 3-7 passes back and forth on a rolling mill. Because the rolling mill is required to reverse and change speed, it is driven by a DC motor.
(2) Operation
Rough rolling is followed after descaling. The descaled slab is rolled by horizontal rolls, vertical rolls, descaling devices, etc. on the roughing mill according to the determined thickness, width and expected plate shape, temperature, and surface properties.
The rough rolling sequence degree is determined according to the thickness of the finished product, the capacity balance of the rough rolling mill and the finishing mill, the yield rate, and the operating conditions.
