  Answer: The fuel is mixed with water, also known as emulsified fuel oil, that is, the fuel is mixed with water and mixed and stirred to become an emulsified body. Emulsified combustion of oil mixed with water is a new type of combustion technology. At present, oil-mixed water-emulsified combustion technology has been used in production (for example, the practice of a heating furnace in a strip steel plant in Beijing shows that oil-mixed water-emulsified combustion has many advantages:
  (1) It can save fuel. This is because oil mixing with water can improve the atomization of the oil and the combustion is relatively complete. Generally, when the water is 15%-20%, the fuel can be saved by about 10%.
   (2) The emulsified combustion of oil mixed with water can reduce smoke, dust and harmful gases, and reduce the pollution to the surrounding environment. At the same time, it can reduce the generation of iron oxide scale and improve the heating quality of steel.
   (3) Because the oil is mixed with water and atomized, the combustion is complete, and the oil burner is not easy to coke, which improves the operating conditions. After the oil is atomized, the initial combustion temperature is relatively low, which prolongs the life of the burner, and the furnace temperature is relatively uniform, which is beneficial to temperature control.
   It is generally believed that the emulsified combustion of oil mixed with water has two functions:
  (1) Physical action. The physical effect mainly refers to the effect of secondary atomization and enhancement of heat transfer effect.
   The emulsified combustion of oil mixed with water is not using water as oil to burn, but water plays the role of secondary atomization, which improves the quality of atomization. The atomization of oil is a process in which the oil stream is broken into droplets due to impact. In the heating furnace, when the oil is pyrolyzed at high temperature, a large number of suspended carbon particles are produced. Because the atomized droplets are atomized in the heating furnace for a second time, the carbon particles formed after thermal decomposition will be finer, so Increase the heating surface and combustion surface of the oil to accelerate the evaporation of the oil, and it can be fully mixed with the air, thereby accelerating the burning speed and achieving complete combustion.
  (2) Chemical action. Chemical action refers to pyrolysis and chemical synthesis.
   Under certain conditions, water molecules can decompose into hydrogen and oxygen, which is beneficial to combustion. After the oil undergoes high-temperature pyrolysis and secondary atomization, a large number of very fine carbon particles are produced, and the chance of contact with water molecules increases. At high temperatures, part of the water molecules react with the red-hot carbon particles to form flammable gas.
