  Compared with general steel die,    packaging steel strip die has obvious advantages such as saving man-hours, steel material, cost and a certain service life.
   Under normal circumstances, because part of the mold material is wood laminate, it is more convenient to process, so compared with ordinary steel die, it can save about 80% of the man-hours, which can significantly shorten the calibration mold production cycle. For medium-sized and large-sized punching dies, packaging steel strip punching dies can also save 90-95% of the moulding steel, thereby reducing the cost of moulding by 80-90% compared with ordinary steel dies. The larger the size of the parts, the more significant the superiority in the winding economics.
  The packaging steel belt die also has a certain service life. When punching thin steel plates or non-ferrous metal parts, its life span can reach 200,000 to 300,000 times. At present, the one-time sharpening life of domestic blanking 3-4 mm steel plates has exceeded 4000-5000 times. In addition, this kind of punching also has the advantages of low manufacturing technology and easy to master; templates and packaging steel strips can be re-used after reforming; the weight of the mold is light (more than 80% lighter than the steel fixture); and the storage area is small. The comparison between packaging steel strip die and general steel die is shown in Table 4-2.
   However, the packaging steel strip mold also has the following shortcomings: ①The production efficiency is low, and the punching parts are manually taken out by the upper discharge forging; ②It is not suitable to punch mold parts with a small thickness of 0.35 mm (because the packaging steel belt suffers The elastic deformation produced by the foot pressure will increase the punching gap between the convex and concave dies); ③It is not suitable to punch the parts with higher requirements on the mortar degree, and the outer contour size tolerance of the blanking parts is within the range of 0.4 mm. The hole diameter of the material and punching is about 0.12 gauge or less.
